5 DIY hair masks


Healthy hair is a trait that everyone wishes to have. Unfortunately, not all of us are genetically blessed with hair that is shiny and super healthy by its own. Some people have to work harder than others to achieve nice locks, but it’s not impossible to do so. You just need few things that you (probably) can find in your kitchen. Try one of these DIY (do it yourself) hair masks that GentleHair has to offer you and you will see results almost instantly.

  1. Nutrifying egg hair mask

    You will need:
    -1 egg
    -Half a glass of milk
    -2 tablespoons of olive oil
    -A tablespoon of lemon juice

    Mix all of the ingredients together, put it on your hair and wait for 15 minutes, then rinse it out. Egg is rich in protein and vitamin E and D, milk is full of proteins as well, olive oil moisturizes hair and has a lot of vitamin E and lemon gives shine and makes your hair softer.

  2. Avocado and honey mask

    You will need:
    -1 avocado
    -1 tablespoon of honey

    Take the flesh out of ripped in half avocado, mix in the tablespoon of honey and blend everything together. Apply for 20 minutes, then rinse it out. Avocado is one of the healthiest things you can put in your hair, it’s rich in vitamins. Honey softens hair a lot, moisturizes it and adds shine.

  3. Apple cider vinegar and lemon mask

    You will need:
    -1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
    -1 tablespoon of lemon juice
    -3/4 cup of (distilled) water

    Mix apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and water together. Apply the mixture for your hair and let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse it out. This is a great combination for adding shine, volume and fighting dandruff. Apple cider vinegar also removes styling product and conditioner build-up in your hair, so hair regains volume and looks thicker.

  4. Banana and almond mask

    You will need:
    -1 banana
    -1 teaspoon of almond oil

    Mash the banana and mix in the almond oil. Mix everything together and put the mixture on your hair. Keep it on for 20 minutes and rinse out. Bananas are rich in vitamins and proteins, while almonds help to fight flakes and moisturize the scalp.

  5. Beer and egg mask

    You will need:
    -1/2 cup of (natural) beer
    -1 egg
    -Light oil (argan, olive etc.)

    This hair mask is great for flat, fine hair. It will add a bit of volume and make your hair look thicker. Not only that, but beer has a lot of biotin. We also already talked about how great eggs and natural oils are for hair. Just mix everything together and apply the mixture to your hair for 20 minutes. Rinse out with shampoo.
